Module 1: (Introduction to IPT and Therapeutic Foundations)
● Overview of IPT as a brief, structured treatment for depression
● Foundational principles and structure of IPT
● Establishing and maintaining a therapeutic alliance
● Recognizing individual patient differences and their impact on IPT practice
Module 2: (Beginning Phase of IPT)
● Introduction to IPT’s clinical guidelines and therapeutic tasks
● Conducting the Interpersonal Inventory and providing psychoeducation
● Linking depressive symptoms to interpersonal problem areas (grief, role transitions, role disputes, interpersonal sensitivity)
● Practicing active listening and empathy & communication skills
● Practical approaches and strategies to use
Module 3: (Middle Phase of IPT and Focus-Specific Tasks)
● Middle-phase therapeutic guidelines and strategies applicable to all IPT problem areas
● Role transitions, role disputes, and interpersonal sensitivity/loneliness
● Case-based examples illustrating IPT tasks in practice
Module 4: (Ending Phase of IPT and Conclusion)
● Termination and concluding phase tasks
● Interactive discussions & role-plays
● Consolidation of learning & practise & case discussions
